At Croccante and Co, we bring the vibrant flavours of Italy to the heart of Edinburgh’s West End, offering an authentic Italian delicatessen and café experience built on tradition, passion, and exceptional ingredients. Founded by best friends Daniela Scott and Samuel Picchi, our mission is simple: to bring a true taste of Italy to Edinburgh.
Our name, Croccante – meaning crunchy – reflects our signature speciality: freshly baked Tuscan schiacciata, filled to order and served piping hot.
With deep Italian roots and a shared love of food, Daniela and Samuel created Croccante and Co to celebrate the flavours they grew up with. Daniela, part of the family behind Scotland’s oldest Italian deli, Valvona & Crolla, brings generations of expertise in sourcing premium Italian products. Samuel, who previously opened a similar shop in Italy, brings hands‑on culinary knowledge and a commitment to authenticity. Whether you’re grabbing a schiacciata on the go, meeting a friend for coffee, or exploring new Italian flavours, our café offers a warm, inviting space from morning to evening.
